Oops I did it again Part 3

Had a rather exhausting weekend at RACV energy breakthrough in Maryborough this weekend (more about this tomorrow) but I did manage to pop into Threadbear patchwork shop in Castlemaine and found not one, not two but three new patterns to buy. Ooops! Also a tiny little bit of fabric as starters to help me on my way... I think that is quite a few quilts I now have on my waiting list to either start (quilts I have patterns and fabric for), finish (works in progress), or want to do one day (patterns I have bought or designed in my head). I will make a list one day.

Total weight loss 6.3kg. Goal to have lost 10kg by end of year.

Oops I did it again, Part 2.

So as I was writing the blog on Monday and looking at the date I had an awful realisation. I had forgotten our wedding anniversary AGAIN. At least I remembered before my Glenn did- that's got to give me some brownie points doesnt it? Happy anniversary Glenn!

Oops I did it again!

My new sneakers

Please don't tell my mum but yes, I have registered for the Oxfam trailwalker for 2010.
For those of you who don't know "Trailwalker" is a 100km endurance walk performed in teams of 4 over a 48 hour period. It is not a relay, everyone has to finish the 100km, and we aim to raise money for Oxfam by participating. I have done the walk in Melbourne 4 times now and once in Hong Kong and this year will definitely, well almost certainly be my last. It does get in the blood somehow.. its a bit like having a baby you tend to forget the pain and only remember the good times (well actually there really aren't many good times involved in walking for about 32 hours- the usual time it takes us to complete it). Ok there is the beautiful east-of Melbourne bush, the friendships formed over the training legs, the raw emotion on the day but sometimes its overwhelmed by the heat, the sweat, the hills ( I will learn to love Hackett's road), the rain, and especially the blisters... But for now I have bought myself some new sneakers and will get training to be extraordinary. For more info see www.oxfam.org.au/trailwalker

My weekend

My finished fairy,
Wool I bought
This weekend I:
-went to a fundraising evening for my sister's choral group. There was a silent auction, fashion parade and the group sang a few songs- a capella, barber shop style- simply beautiful.
-watched Lucy at Little athletics. I always have tears in my eyes when I watch these girls compete against themselves. The 1100m race this week was tough in temps. in the high 20's but they all gave it a go and all of them made it. 2 weeks ago they ran an 800m race, and right at the start one little girl fell over. Another girl in the team stopped to help her up and they ran on together. I was in tears as these 2 little girls came in at the end, and I wasn't the only one touched. I overheard 2 Dads commenting on the sportsmanship these girls showed, and one of the organisers bought them both an icy pole to congratulate them. I still cry now when I think of it..
-went to the school fete. It was soo hot and all I managed to do was to sit in the shade and watch the kids run around. I did manage to spend some money at the silent auction but as this year I did absolutely nothing for the fair I thought I should at least buy something. Quite proud of myself that I didnt spend months sewing for the fete- but unfortunately the craft room was looking a bit bare this year- may try and do something next year...
- finished the quilt fairy I have been working on as well as another one (just had to finish the face). Unfortunately no house painting done.
-bought some wool for crocheting. Made a cute birdie decoration (pattern courtesy of Lucy from Attic24) to send to my sister for her birthday

Hit the 5kg mark!

I weighed in yesterday and have now officially lost 5.3kg. It doesnt seem much as I have been dieting since the middle of August but when I think of the weight that I might of put on if I hadnt been dieting and exercising I feel good. I also cant remember the last time I was this weight-probably about 3 or 4 years ago. I have already given one pair of pants to the op shop- OK they were a bit stretched and a size too big anyway but Im hopeful that eventually I will purge my fat wardrobe. Next goal 10% by Christmas... now there's a scary thought.
